Understand First
Oystershell developed a genuinely breakthrough OTC format: a liquid-filled ginger gummy designed to deliver fast, targeted relief from nausea. But innovation alone doesn’t guarantee understanding.
The brief was simple in language but complex in challenge: translate a novel galenic delivery system into a brand that felt credible to pharmacists and instantly understandable to consumers, while breaking the category’s visual conventions.
Not packaging evolution, full brand creation.

Free The Birds crafted the identity for this pioneering offer from the earliest stages of visual world development. A true partnership with Oystershell, we co-developed the foundations of Nvive – from naming, identity and packaging through to pharmacy sales materials and OOH communications.
The visual journey began by defining the brand’s foundations early. With a proprietary galenic format engineered through years of R&D, the identity needed to communicate both the science and the simplicity of the solution. Strategy came first: establishing the name, positioning and a focused brand-house that clearly explained how the technology works and why it’s different.
From there, the system expanded into a cohesive brand world extending well beyond pack. A structured architecture clarified information and introduced colour-coding to support navigation and future portfolio growth, while intuitive iconography carried benefits seamlessly into digital and social. In-store and campaign materials built on the same language, using recognisable brand assets and a signature visual device – the ‘nausea bubble’ to visualise ‘nausea moments’ and the fast-acting liquid release.
The result? A brand world that feels both fresh and enduring.

“Developing a completely new healthcare galenic format requires extensive research, scientific rigour and a willingness to challenge established conventions. Nvive represents a significant milestone in that journey for Oystershell. As we prepared to bring this innovation to market, it was essential that the identity reflected the same level of precision and ambition that defined its development. Free The Birds supported us in translating this into a clear and cohesive visual expression, ensuring the brand is well positioned for both launch and long-term growth.”
